Atomosphere, The Birth of a Blog!

einsteins brain

The boys in the basement at Atommedia have long held the belief that we should publish our thoughts, musings and sometimes more outrageous ideas about all things e-marketing (and even traditional marketing!) to the community at large and finally it has been born as the very first Atomosphere release.

Some people might say, cynically, that it’s timing has everything to do with our presence at a certain event in California where the great and the good of the online marketing industry gather to swap tales of glory and the dark art – we couldn’t possibly comment unless you link to us from your PR6 site!

Atomosphere aspires to perform three vital but quite simple functions.

Firstly, we believe that information is power and the more of us who possess the right kind of information the better we, as a community, will be able to do battle with the ‘dark side of the force’. (That’s our competitors, not Google!)

Secondly, we believe that informed debate and discussion provide the best nursery for the creation of new ideas, mashing up established viewpoints and practices and giving oxygen to fresh ways to breathe life into our online and offline adventures as we strive to conquer the Everest which is Google (and the other search engine chaps).

Finally, as an experiment in the use of blogging to attract followers and advocates, we can be viewed as a live experiment which in itself can be used to advise and inform our clients as to the best way to use this valuable tool to (not too) shamelessly promote yourselves as part of your overall marketing mix. The findings, both good and bad, you can view and use for free again as long as you link to us (OK, only joking!).

On a serious note, blogging represents a powerful tool in your marketing armoury – it should reflect the human side, the personality of your organisation and your brand and allow supporters and detractors to interact freely and honestly with your online brand. All in all, it is a great way to understand the mind of your market and your customers. Equally, through this medium, it allows you to add value to your customer experience through the provision of timely, relevant information and point of view – and we all know that the search engines love this.

We look forward to getting into some meaty debates with you over the coming months as long as the Californian sun hasn’t gone to our heads

Cheers
